Epic Games is a countertrend developer: it is adding more bots to its games in the new Fortnite v10.40 update.
It may seem strange, given that many game creators are doing their best to remove robots from their games, but Epic Games has new ideas for Fortnite Battle Royale.
The developer announced in a recent blog post that he is updating the Battle Royale modes and, as part of this, will add in-game robots to "provide a better path to grow players' skills."
These robots will act like human players and will work together with the new matchmaking system: the more players there are, the less robots they will encounter.

Speaking of matching, Epic Games is also updating its matchmaking mode, after admitting in the post the core of the game that "when it comes to matching players with similar skill levels", previously "some problems arose".
However, as the players became more skilled, this lack of change caused an obstacle to improvement. Therefore, in the Fortnite 10.40 update, Epic Games is introducing "an improved matchmaking logic in the core modes of Battle Royale to create fairer matches".
This means that players are likely to be matched because they will have similar abilities, as will your opponents.
