Through The Garden Gate : February 2018

Harvington Speckled Pink
It's the hellebores that are still stealing the show in my February garden. This morning after a very cold night I awoke to a very sad sight. The hellebores appear to have suffered frost damage. Hopefully they will pick up quickly. Fortunately I captured the above flower a couple of days ago.

In the garden we have been busy splitting a very large clump of bamboo. Half has gone to my son's garden the other half has been moved to a lower position. The end result is more space around my lilac tree and a little more border for shady plants.

Helleborus Winter Moonbeam

Newly cleared border.
Tete a Tete daffodils are appearing finally. They have been very slow to get going. The heartening sight of iris leaves and tulips pushing through, gives hope for spring colour .

Lower down in the garden yellow and red dog wood is creating interest along with the lots of cheery new leaves emerging.

I'm sure like many I have reached the stage of winter when I'm looking forward to the profusion of Spring and Summer. It won't be long now.

Time to think of seed planting very soon. How is your garden doing? Please do join Sarah here for Through The Garden Gate.
