In the main, my Monday trek to London was inspired by this: another Turkish film which can only be found in two cinemas.
I presume there must be a substantial Turkish community in north London to justify the amount of screenings at Cineworld in Wood Green, where I was yesterday and Lea Valley Odeon which Mrs W and I visited last month.
Anyway, there were half a dozen who joined me in screen 1 at Wood Green to watch Ozan Aciktan's film.
I'd presume they would all have enjoyed it more than I did.
I've said before and I'll say it again, humour is, firstly, down to an individual connection but background culture plays a huge part in what all of us find funny.
To me, although I have had a giggle at the likes of Berlin Kaplani and Kurtulus Son Durak, Turkish big screen humour tends to remind me of that in 1970s Britain.
Thus, here, the hero of the hour is a cross between Inspector Clouseau and Benny Hill (he constantly ogles pretty girls) Actually, it has just occurred to me that he is rather nearer Johnny English without the rubber face.
In other words: I'm not keen.
Tolga Cevik is the man in question: a detective who has been hired to track down a missing heiress.
As the opening sequence of the movie is him unwittingly sabotaging a police drugs raid, we pretty much know what we are going to get for the rest of it.
Yes, he is a dithering but good-hearted fool who makes a mockery of every situation and inevitably falls in love with the woman he is trying to find (despite the fact that she is way out of his league).
Alongside, is his getting-on-a-bit assistant (Koksal Engur), who is even more dimwitted than him.
To be fair, I did giggle a couple of times...in particular, there is scene in which our hero ends up having to be lead singer of a Spanish band which is genuinely funny.
And I have to admit the audience, who presumably have Turkish as a first language seemed to appreciate it more than me.
But overall it was just plain daft and left me cold.
Laughs: one decent one and a couple of sniggers.
Jumps: one
Vomit: none
Nudity: none
Overall rating: 3.5/10
