Recently I have felt my skin has been drier than ever so have been whipping out the balms and body butters, left, right and centre. Whilst some are purely for your chapped lips, and others are perfect for those dry patches that lurk on your body, sometimes you come across a little tub of loveliness that is suited for every thinkable wind-thwart ailment. (Think Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, Liz Earle Superbalm and Organic Surge Million Dollar Anywhere balm). The latest recruit to these ranks is Bobbi Brown's Soothing Balm from their luxury skincare range, 'EXTRA', and is packed full of skin-conditioning ingredients such as avocado, beeswax, rosemary oil, Shea butter and geranium oils to help hydrate, soothe and melt away dry, flakey skin. Parched lips, scaly heels and ragged cuticles are all at the mercy of BB's soothing balm!
This dense, concentrated balm smells divine is your like your beauty products florally-scented with a slight twang of rosemary and is not at all greasy, but luxurious to apply. The balm melts under your fingertips so there is no need to dig into this product (thankfully as it is too pretty to ruin!) and sinks nicely into your skin. Apparently it can also be used over makeup to give your cheeks that desired glow but I think this is best suited as a brilliant, all-purpose balm, pure and simple. I am not sure it quite warrants the hefty price tag and fares just as well as some of the other, aforementioned super balms, but a little goes a long way so I think you will definitely get your money's worth.
