May Favourites

Hi gang, another month has flown by, a very stressful one for me and a lot of other students but we made it to June so it's time for a recap of my favourite products from the last month!

Moroccanoil Treatment
I caved and bought this famous hair oil about 6 weeks ago and I have to say when I opened the package from feelunique and saw this tiny little bottle I was a little bit shocked, the words 'I paid £13.00 for THIS?' may have been uttered. But as you can see from the close-up picture the stuff is fairly long-lasting, I've used it every time I've washed my hair (around 3 times a week) since I bought it and I still have 3/4 left. This hair oil is seriously lovely, I apply a small pea-sized amount to towel dry hair before blow drying and it not only cuts the drying time in half (as the oil repels the water particles or something) but it leaves my hair soft and silky. It smells pretty good too! All in all, I'm glad I purchased this and will probably invest in the 100ml bottle when this 25ml bottle runs out.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish
I'm a sucker for a cult beauty product. If I hear everyone raving about it, I have to try it. No willpower whatsoever, but in a way I'm glad as it means I try out a lot of amazing products that I might not have picked up on my own. This creamy hot cloth cleanser is luxurious yet simple, beautifully packaged and seriously effective at removing all makeup and dirt morning and night. Read a more in depth review here.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum
This gel texture foundation has been my base of choice this month. It's enriched with fruit extracts for an anti-fatigue effect. The coverage is medium and buildable but also looks very natural so the bottle's claim of providing 'undetectable coverage' is justified if you ask me. I love the way this looks when applied with fingers or my Real Techniques buffing brush and I can't see myself ever not having one of these foundations in my collection. I haven't tried the newer formulation of this foundation but the serum is a seriously good highstreet base.

Bourjois Cream Blush in 01 Nude Velvet
Bourjois are just excelling themselves at the minute and are fast becoming one of my favourite highstreet brands. I have been so excited for the launch of their cream blush range, and I'm sure you've all seen several million reviews and swatches of these little beauties so I won't say too much, except that the packaging is cute and practical (with a magnetic clasp and a mirror inside), the cream to powder formula leaves cheeks with a natural flush of colour and this shade is a very subtle and natural peachy pink which looks stunning applied with fingers or a Real Techniques stippling brush (my preferred tool for blushes).

Nars Blush in Orgasm
When I purchased this blush alongside my trusty Nars Laguna bronzer, I have to admit I was a little bit disappointed with the shade. Orgasm is definitely the marmite of blushes. You love the colour or you hate it. I'm not entirely sure what put me off but I just wasn't overly impressed with the shade, maybe it's because I prefer a more peachy blush colour and this one does look a little bit intimidating in the pan. However, this month I decided to give it another try and I'm so glad I did. Applied with my stippling brush this blush translates to a much more subtle flush of colour on the cheeks and just looks really pretty. As always, the Nars packaging is sleek and sturdy, though it does mark easily and the blush itself is a dream to apply.

Max Factor Smoky Eye Effect Eyeshadow in Bronze Haze
This creamy eye shadow duo has been in my collection for a couple of years now, since they were originally released I think. I wore the creamy bronze colour all over the lids and under the eyes one day this month and I just loved how natural and glowy it looked, it really brightened up my eyes. I also like to use this duo as it is intended to be used - with the cream colour all over the lid and the brown colour through the crease and on the outer third of the eye and blended together - a no fuss, bronze smoky eye with just one product. The colours are pigmented and the creamy formula makes them easy to work with using fingers or a brush. I think you can pick these up for less than £3 from Amazon these days, so definitely worth a try if you haven't used one yet.

I hope you enjoyed this post, as always please do link me to your favourites posts as I love reading them and seeing what everyone else has been loving!
